The Tiger's Mouth Blog: Balance and Stability
I enjoy walking nearby trails during the warmer months, but I’ve always found it difficult and challenging to walk on colder and snowy days because of my health issues; for that reason I stopped going for walks when winter comes.
Last winter we had heavy snow and the scenery – even looking from the window – was enchanting. I wondered what the trails would be like and went to see. The forest was magical. I started to walk and kept walking. Suddenly I realized despite the cold weather and snow I’m walking with ease; balanced and comfortable. My practice of the Taoist Tai Chi® arts over the years had reduced the tension in my body, and increased my physical and mental strength and flexibility. I felt stronger than ever. It was a moment of awareness and pure joy.
I’m grateful my path crossed with Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism and that Taoist Tai Chi® arts help me to walk with ease in every path I come across.
