The Tiger's Mouth Blog: Something for Everyone
We are all on our own unique path of transformation. Mr. Moy’s vision of helping practitioners return to a healthier and more harmonious way of living resonates deeply within me. I love that Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism promotes the principle of all cultures and religions moving together in harmony.
As an Indigenous Catholic woman living with arthritis in Northern AB, Canada it was incredible to feel so warmly welcomed. I was curious to learn about the Taoist Tai Chi® arts and how compassion is the foundation. Sincerely I appreciate the opportunity to cultivate my body, mind and spirit. I feel a deep connection to the mission of alleviating suffering and helping others. I feel blessed to have experienced the physical and mental benefits of moving meditation and developed my understanding further about the richness of Chinese culture, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. I see many similarities between the religions and my traditional Indigenous beliefs which are also passed along through oral tradition.
In the past few years due to the COVID pandemic, I have come to experience the benefits of chanting regularly. Truly it has been a valuable time – the worst of times and the best of times … allowing me to work on myself so I’m better able to help my family and community. I have experienced the power of being together, listening, and learning through the Saturday discussions and chanting for the world. This creates an energy that helps me find peace and better balance in my life. I appreciated receiving the Northern Dipper Scripture English translation as this helped me deepen my understanding of the meaning of the prayer and how others also honor the Big Dipper.
By listening to the Board of Directors and consulting, listening, and working together with my local branch council and regional committees, I feel a sense of family and belonging with people who are loving, kind, trustworthy, sincere, dedicated, and generous. I feel calmer, more relaxed, and let go of worry sooner. I am so grateful that his teachings are available to all.
At this time the world could benefit from Taoist Tai Chi® arts and his teachings. There is truly something for everyone.
